Lil Derik shares engaging EP ‘Red Dragon"‘ (prod. Brey10)

Lil Derik returns with Red Dragon, a fresh three-track EP that captures an artist coming into full clarity. The South Side of St. Louis raised him on grit, rhythm, and storytelling, and he’s carried that spirit from high-school cyphers to classrooms and basketball courts, balancing his days as a substitute teacher and coach with nights spent sharpening one of the city’s most respected independent voices.

His journey has been steady and intentional. After forming the “More Than Music” collective in high school and later attending Mizzou, he released Huey vs. Riley: The Mixtape in 2018, a project that quietly became a local favorite. Since then he has built a rich catalogue- five solo albums, four collaborative projects, thirteen EPs, and a steady stream of singles- culminating in his 2025 studio album Enter The Dragon, dropped on his twenty-seventh birthday.

Red Dragon shows a new level of poise. BREY10’s warm, textured production creates space for Lil Derik’s reflective storytelling, letting his soulful tone and unforced focus shine. His flow moves with the ease of someone who has lived every word he writes.

Buick Lesabre” opens the EP with soft, steady loops that underscore Lil Derik’s verses, which are smooth and grounded- balancing memory and maturity. Next comes “Fall In Love,” built on infectious samples and a lush rhythm section that lift his voice into new colors. The project ends with “Til Death Do Us Part,” a release of rising emotion and sharpened penwork. The track builds slowly, carrying his reflections to a poignant finish.

Taken together, the EP offers a clear snapshot of where Lil Derik stands now: rooted, expressive, and moving with purpose. It marks the beginning of a new chapter following a breakout run of festival stages, co-headlining shows, a Connect The Dots freestyle, and recognition as part of the 2025 St. Louis Freshmen Class.

Red Dragon, crafted alongside UK producer BREY10, is now available to stream on our platform.
