Erik Evy drops new EP “everything cluttered and inbetween”

Erik Evy has just released his latest EP, everything cluttered and inbetween. The 4-track project, which was released April 15, is a moody, late-night blend of hip hop and R&B that feels personal and atmospheric from start to finish.

Chicago plays a big role in the heart of this project. You can hear it not just in Erik’s voice, but in the people who helped bring it to life—Morgan Gold adds dreamy vocals on “Lavender,” Lou! produced the lush, introspective “light away,” and Galaxy Francis mixed that same track to perfection. Much of it was recorded in Erik’s bedroom, but he also spent time creating and connecting at Studio Shapes, a locally-owned studio where artists like Saba have recently stopped by.

Lyrically, Erik is diving deep—exploring what it means to grow up, adjust to change, and stay soft while still standing confident in who he’s becoming. His delivery hits hard, but there’s emotional depth in the lyrics, and the production wraps it all in a vibe that feels immersive and sincere.

The whole project is painted in shades of purple—it’s hazy, introspective, and emotionally rich. With this EP, Erik shows he’s stepping into his own as an artist, and he’s already looking ahead to a bigger project coming in 2025.
